Amelia Presley
Amelia Presley
Semper Fi Country
Amelia Presley is an Americana singer-songwriter now based in Texas. Born in Mobile, Alabama and raised just over the state line in Mississippi, Amelia grew up in the small Gulf Coast community of Franklin Creek, where many Finnish immigrants like her grandmother’s family settled. South Mississippi inspires a melting pot of musical sounds from Blues to Country and Rock, but Amelia attributes her unique style to her father, Jimmy Presley, who she remembers singing clever lyrics he wrote during her childhood. She claims her soulful voice is a female version of his. From the time she could speak, she wanted to be a singer like her father. Amelia Presley’s voice is emotional and powerful. Her music combines the Southern Rock grit and twang that she learned from her father with a bluesy growl that can only come from pain acquired with a hard life. Amelia’s lyrics are complex, and leave room for the imagination. Those with similar life experiences find it easier to decode the messages in her songs. This has given her the opportunity to connect with other survivors and ‘imperfect’ people like herself.

JB Brown
JB Brown
Semper Fi Country
Growing up in Southern California, JB was part of the early 2000’s Alt-Rock scene. With the Sunset Strip practically in his back yard, JB and his then band X-Syndrome, played such venues as The Whiskey a go-go, The Roxy, The Troubadour, The Viper Room and many others around SoCal. With a father that was a rock drummer in the LA music scene in the 80’s, JB naturally gravitated toward the drums. He grew up listening to Rush, The Police, Led Zeppelin, and many other rock bands. He credits his country love to his mothers side of the family as they hail from Mississippi. JB remembers from a young age loving such country greats as Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson. It wasn’t until the mid nineties that JB came into his own with country music loving such artists as Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Clint Black, and many others. After years of being a front man in rock bands, JB ultimately wanted to become a country artist as that was always in his heart since he was a young boy. He finally got the chance in 2017 when he released his first single “Love Don’t Live Here” and never looked back. JB has over 80 million streams worldwide with songs such as “Church Pew”, “Tonight”, and “Oceans”. JB served 12 years in the United States Marine Corps and was ultimately medically retired from injuries sustained in combat operations in Iraq. He tours with his band The JB Brown Band out of Central Virginia. JB is married with 4 children.

Jim Hoehn
Jim Hoehn
Semper Fi Country
Jim Hoehn is a career journalist/author/songwriter who has carved out a surprisingly successful niche as a performing songwriter since first stumbling out of the pressbox with a guitar. JH-JBurns_resized.jpg During his journalism career – much of it spent as a sportswriter – Hoehn has covered everything from plane crashes to murder trials to the Super Bowl and the Hong Kong 7s rugby tournament. As a source of family editorial pride, he’s also the guy who broke the Jeffrey Dahmer story for the National Enquirer. He has taught sports journalism at the university level and also teaches Rock Music-Roots and History at Carroll University. His latest release is the aptly titled “Collection Notice,” a selection of 15 original songs from his four previous recordings, “Silhouette of a Fool,” “Royalty Check Hotel,” “Deadline Penitentiary,” and “Playa del Pressbox.” Cuts off each of the records received considerable airplay on Americana, folk and alt-country shows in the U.S., Europe and Australia. “Silhouette of a Fool” earned a spot on the Freeform Americana chart. Since winning a songwriting contest and making his first public appearance at Milwaukee’s Summerfest – the world’s largest music festival – Hoehn has maintained a time-available selection of club dates, house concerts, theater shows and festivals across the country. KF_2685_resized.jpg Hoehn has opened for a veritable who’s who of American songwriters, including John Hiatt, Rodney Crowell, Jerry Jeff Walker, Robert Earl Keen, Roger McGuinn, Todd Snider, Sonny Landreth, Don Williams, Phil Vassar, Reckless Kelly, Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers, Mac McAnally, James McMurtry and many others – including a couple memorable nights with Kinky Friedman. His songwriting has led to performances at prestigious music festivals in Texas and Oklahoma hosted by the likes of Gary P. Nunn and Larry Joe Taylor, and an appearance on the Mitch Albom national TV show. He has appeared at numerous Trop-Rock music events such as the annual Meeting of the Minds in Key West, Fla.; Pardi-Gras in New Orleans; and Phins to the West in Laughlin, Nev. Two of his recordings, “Royalty Check Hotel” and “Deadline Penitentiary” were recorded in Texas with the help of some of Austin’s finest musicians, including guitarist/producer John Inmon, who for many years was the lead guitarist for Jerry Jeff Walker as a member of the Lost Gonzo Band. “Silhouette of a Fool” was recorded in Milwaukee under the guidance of John Sieger, founder of Semi-Twang and co-founder of the iconic R&B Cadets (with Paul Cebar). JH_Alpine_Valley_2011_resized.jpg His ode to escaping cubicle life, "Callin' In Gone," was a finalist for Trop Rock song of the Year; has been recorded by beach circuit favorites, The Boat Drunks, and is a setlist staple for several bands and performers across the country. For six years, Hoehn also the script for and hosted the Trop-Rock Music Association awards show in Key West, Fla. Hoehn also is the author of the award-winning book, “The Father’s Guide to Birth, Babies and Loud Children,” and a book on the history of the WNBA, released in 2020. As time allows, he can still be found in the pressbox and on the sidelines covering professional and major college sports for the likes of AP, MLB.com, and many other newspapers, magazines and websites.
